President Trump has decided to turn your government, your tax dollars, and your personal information over to Elon Musk, an unelected billionaire with no accountability to the American people.

I know there are lots of questions about what this means.

That’s why I'm convening an Emergency Telephone Town Hall tomorrow, Tuesday, February 11 at 6:30 PM CST.

I will be joined by Assistant House Democratic Leader Joe Neguse and the President of the American Federation of Government Employees, Everett Kelley. We will discuss what are doing to legislate, litigate, and mobilize to hold this administration accountable.

Here's just some of what we're doing to fight back:

On Wednesday, I led a letter to the Acting IRS Commissioner demanding answers. We requested specific details on what information has been accessed, how many times it has been accessed, and for what purpose it is being used.

On Thursday, House Democrats put forward the Taxpayer Data Protection Act which would put a stop to Elon Musk’s shameful invasion of Americans’ privacy.

We will not stand by and let Donald Trump and Elon Musk violate your privacy and dismantle the programs you rely on.
