Since Donald Trump was sworn into office on January 20th, Michael has been fighting back against this new administration's deluge of damaging decisions and actions.

During Robert F. Kennedy’s HHS confirmation hearings, Michael grilled him on his record of spreading dangerous conspiracy theories regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, Lyme disease, pesticides, and AIDS. His record is disqualifying for someone nominated to lead our nation’s health.

He also questioned former Representative Tulsi Gabbard, Trump’s nominee for Director of National Intelligence, on her record and experience. It quickly became clear that she holds beliefs that are antithetical to what we should expect from a leader charged with our national security. 

With only Republican support, RFK Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard will be headed toward full Senate confirmation votes. Michael will continue speaking out on the dangers of these unqualified nominees, and urging his colleagues across the aisle to vote against their confirmation. Watch Michael and Rachel Maddow discuss the confirmation process and these dangerous nominees below.

The Trump administration’s chaos has not been limited to nominees.

Last month, they ordered a reckless and shortsighted decision to freeze all federal aid that would’ve wreaked havoc on Colorado police and fire departments, schools, and hospitals that rely on federal grants. Thanks to furious pushback from Michael and so many others, the Trump administration was forced to back down from this threat.

While Democrats may be in the minority, that isn’t stopping Michael from using every tool at his disposal to hold the Trump administration accountable. As a member of the powerful Senate Intelligence and Finance Committees, Michael is demanding the American people get answers to what Elon Musk, an unelected billionaire, and his Department of Government Efficiency “DOGE” and are up to.
