Folks,

In a moment, I’m going to ask you to pitch in to my re-election campaign – but first I wanted to take a minute to talk about what happened last week.

Thursday night – over my strenuous objections – the Senate voted to confirm Russell Vought to run the Office of Management and Budget. A man who outright said he wants to “traumatize the federal workforce” is now in a top position to implement the agenda he laid out when he wrote Project 2025.

Even before Vought’s confirmation, it’s been clear that the Trump Administration’s actions has already traumatized federal workers – the same ones who come to work every day looking to help others and make our communities better and stronger, who work on issues like national security and intelligence, veterans’ benefits, Medicaid, and education.

And it’s clear that their agenda of cutting and clearing, no matter the consequences, is far from over: News outlets are already reporting that the White House is preparing an executive order to fire thousands of federal health workers.

Friday, after a late night trying to stop the onslaught of Trump nominees, I spent the day meeting with Virginians to hear from them about how this chaos is already affecting their lives, from religious leaders to folks in the space industry. Over and over again I heard that folks don’t know what’s coming next. But they’re ready to keep fighting for our country.

I will always keep fighting for Virginians and for all Americans. It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it. If you’re with me, I hope you’ll pitch in to my re-election campaign.

We are just starting this fight – we have a long way to go. Thank you for being with me.
