The Trump administration broke the law when they gave Elon Musk and his so-called “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE) access to the Treasury Department’s central payment system, which contains Americans’ bank account details, Social Security numbers, and other highly sensitive data.

To protect your right to privacy, I joined 18 other attorneys general in filing a lawsuit to block Musk’s access to personal information. In response, a federal judge barred DOGE from accessing private data and ordered the unauthorized individuals to destroy any copies of the data they had made.

This is a victory for Minnesotans, but the work to protect our democracy continues.
