"We have again seen the monsters of Hamas. These are the same monsters who slaughtered our citizens and abused our hostages. ([link removed]) I say to them again: They will pay the price. We will do everything to return all of our hostages. We will see to their safety. This is the directive that I gave to the delegation – say this to the mediators and demand it. But beyond this, President Trump agrees with me completely: We will do everything to return all of the hostages, but Hamas will not be there. We will eliminate Hamas, and we will return our hostages. This is the directive – and this is how it will be.”
--Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, upon the return of the hostages, Or Levi, Eli Sharabi and Ohad Ben Ami, February 8, 2025

** Sarah Stern Helps Introduce the Antisemitism Awareness Act ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------

Sarah Stern, EMET’s Founder and President, has been working for almost a decade on the Antisemitism Awareness Act. She has watched as antisemitism has grown by 700 percent, according to the ADL, with 83 percent of college students experiencing antisemitism. This past Wednesday, she stood with the bill’s chief sponsors, Representative Mike Lawler, (R-NY), Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ), Max Miller (R-OH), and Jared Moskowitz, (D-FL). It will be introduced as early as this week by Senators Tim Scott (R-SC) and Jackie Rosen (D-FL).
EMET has been spearheading this bill since 2016, working closely with former Representatives Ted Deutch (D-FL) and Peter Roskam (R-Il) as well as former Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) and current Senator Tim Scott (R-SC). Says Sarah Stern, “It has been a very long, arduous journey. We have watched, for decades now as antisemitism has metastasized from its foundation in the Middle East Studies programs, throughout the humanities and social sciences, and often even in the sciences. By now, it has entered into schools of education, infecting kindergarten through high school teachers with a 21^st-century spin to an ancient virus. The Antisemitism Awareness Act, employing the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance Definition, provides an essential tool for university administrators and K-12 principals. Since October 7^th, antisemitism has become a tsunami throughout the world. And it has got to end. Now.”

Breaking the Paradigm in the Middle East
Tuesday, February 11th, at 12:00 Noon EST
With Special Guest Alex Traiman, CEO of the Jewish National Syndicate
Please note the change in date
President Donald Trump’s recent statements alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have introduced a dramatic shift in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Trump called for the resettlement of nearly 2 million Palestinians outside of Gaza. ([link removed]) This proposal would mark a significant departure from previous diplomatic efforts, effectively dismantling the two-state solution and cementing Israeli control over disputed territories, including Judea and Samaria. Trump’s remarks suggest that America may soon recognize Israeli sovereignty in these areas, further upending decades of negotiations based on the Oslo Accords. His approach builds upon his previous diplomatic breakthroughs, such as the Abraham Accords, and positions Israel as having secured a definitive victory against its adversaries, including Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iranian-backed forces.
The implications of Trump’s proposal are far-reaching. If Palestinian resettlement occurs, it would permanently alter the demographic and political landscape of the region, strengthening Israel’s position. However, questions remain about where displaced Palestinians would go and how neighboring Arab nations would react. While Netanyahu and Trump emphasize strength as the pathway to peace, resistance from the international community and regional actors could complicate the plan.
Where do we go from here? If resettlement becomes the new reality, how will the logistics be managed, and which countries will accept large numbers of Palestinians? Will the U.S. and Israel provide economic incentives for resettlement, and if so, how will those be structured? If Arab nations reject the plan, what alternatives exist for ensuring stability in the region? And ultimately, will this approach lead to lasting peace, or will it create new sources of conflict?
