Last week, I joined my Senate Democratic colleagues in a 30-hour protest opposing the nomination of Russell Vought—an architect of the MAGA Project 2025 agenda—to serve as Director of the Office of Budget and Management.

I held the Senate floor to illustrate the damage that Donald Trump has already done to our nation in just the few short weeks since his inauguration.

Within the first few days of his Administration, Trump unlawfully declared a blanket freeze on all federal grants.

The Trump Administration also gave Elon Musk access to Americans’ social security numbers and Veterans’ personal information through the Treasury Department. No one person should have access to millions of Americans’ highly sensitive data, but especially not someone like Elon Musk who is unelected, unvetted and unqualified.

To top it all off, Trump and Musk have also been working together to fire thousands of federal employees and dismantle key federal agencies like USAID.

Decades ago, when I was just starting out in the Army, I took an oath to protect our Constitution and our nation.

And let me be clear: The Trump-Musk oligarchy is a danger to us all.

Although now I serve in Congress instead of the Army, I still intend to make good on my promise to keep our country safe by holding the Trump Administration accountable through my work in the Senate.

If you are able to, I hope you’ll join me in supporting this critical work by making a $5 donation to my campaign today.

Thank you. I appreciate having you by my side as we work to defend our democracy.
