It is important to me that I keep my supporters informed of the work I’m doing. Here are some updates on what I’ve been working on in Congress this month:

1. I was reappointed to three subcommittees on the House Committee on Appropriations, and I am serving as the top Democrat on the Agriculture, Rural Development, FDA, and Related Agencies subcommittee. It is my honor to continue to serve my district and the state of Georgia through these assignments, each of which directly addresses the top three drivers of Georgia’s economy: agriculture, national defense, and financial services.

2. I am serving as co-chair of the Congressional Peanut Caucus. As we work on the next Farm Bill, it is crucial that we provide a strong voice and demonstrate the critical role that the peanut industry plays in our country.

3. I introduced the Broadening Online Opportunities Through Simple Technologies (BOOST) Act , which would allow rural households to claim a $300 tax credit to access the internet. The BOOST Act will help close the gap and ensure that everyone can take full advantage of digital resources and participate in the increasingly digital world we live and work in.
