Credit unions – as you begin to return to normal operations and reflect on lessons learned from the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, what challenges are your institution facing? Through a new survey sent to NAFCU member credit unions Tuesday, the association is seeking direct feedback on the current state of the credit union industry.


NAFCU voices support for CDFIs, MDIs ahead of HFSC hearing [ [link removed] ]
NAFCU Vice President of Legislative Affairs Brad Thaler sent a letter to the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Consumer Protection and Financial Institutions reiterating the important role community development financial institutions (CDFIs) and minority depository institutions (MDIs) play in supporting underserved communities and small businesses.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., indicated the Senate could potentially pass a House version of legislation, which passed overwhelmingly with bipartisan support last week, to make changes to the Small Business Administration's (SBA) paycheck protection program (PPP).






CFPB offers clarification with new FAQs on remittance rule [ [link removed] ]
The CFPB has issued a set of FAQs to provide clarification on the bureau's Remittance Rule, which was recently amended to increase the safe harbor threshold  from 100 transfers in the previous and current calendar year to 500 transfers. 


How CARES Act helped economy, what more is needed covered in Senate hearing [ [link removed] ]
Panelists before the Senate Banking Committee yesterday shared how the CARES Act has helped stabilize the economy amid the coronavirus pandemic and what more is needed to ensure consumers, small businesses, and communities can recover effectively.
