Launching today: Empowering Young Minds Against Cyberbullying

Cyberbullying has been shown to cause as much harm as conventional bullying, and in some cases, can be much worse.

In response to conversations with youth workers, the National Youth Health Programme team developed Stay Safe Online: Empowering Young Minds Against Cyberbullying ([link removed]) . The resource is designed to empower youth workers, parents, guardians, and caregivers with the knowledge to support our young people.

Supporting Digital Literacy in Young People

How can we, as youth workers, mitigate the impacts of algorithms and influencers on young people's lives?

Here's one way: through the Connected ([link removed]) resource, a collaboration between NYCI's Child Protection Programme and Webwise.

The resource includes four workshops to support young people with information and practical activities:
* My Online Wellbeing
* News, Media, and the Problems of False Information
* Big Data and the Data Economy
* Young People's Rights Online

Join NYCI as our project officer: AI, data & emerging technologies!

Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming our world. But what does this mean for young people and the youth work sector?

As part of our work in this area, NYCI’s STEAM Engagement Programme is recruiting a project officer to work with young people and youth workers on AI and emerging technologies. This project is being developed in partnership with Insight at Dublin City University and the Ombudsman for Children’s Office.

If you are passionate about youth engagement, AI, and digital rights,
and have experience in emerging technologies and the youth sector, this exciting new role may be for you!
