[1]Eugene Vindman for Congress
I promised to stand up for military families when I came to Congress, and I just introduced my first bill to do that.
With the return-to-work mandate for government employees countless military spouses face the real possibility of losing their jobs as a result or needing their active-duty spouse to leave the military. That is a choice that no family serving our country should have to make.
As a 25-year Army veteran, I know firsthand the professional sacrifices that military spouses make. My wife Cindy has had a wonderful career alongside mine, but it was challenging to balance what the Army required of me. Military spouses provide the support active members need to do their jobs effectively, and this executive order threatens to separate families that may not work in the same areas.
In response, I introduced my first bill as a member of Congress to protect and defend military families. This bipartisan bill will uphold our commitment to our federal workforce and the families of those who serve our country in uniform.
This common-sense and simple solution guarantees that those serving our country in uniform can continue their duties, that our federal agencies retain experienced staff, and that military families remain together. This is not a partisan issue; it's an American one.
If you agree, please become a citizen co-sponsor of my first bill to defend military families in Congress. Our active duty members deserve our support.
