Dear John,
It’s only been a few weeks and already the devastating impact of the Trump administration is undeniable. From the separation of countless immigrant families through deportations to the decimation of our foreign aid to the insistent attacks on trans rights and bodily autonomy, the administration is focused on disregarding human rights and causing chaos.
But here at Urgent Action Fund we are focused and we refuse to give into despair and helplessness.
We know that global feminist solidarity is the antidote we need to counter rising authoritarianism in the U.S. and beyond. We also know that we are not alone. Right wing extremism and power is growing around the world and we are building networks of solidarity to learn from each other and defend our communities.
In response to increased attacks on rights and civic spaces, feminists are organizing, ready to push back in the streets, in court rooms, and at the governmental level. We are proud to be funding and fueling them alongside all the Urgent Action Sister Funds.
