Today’s Supreme Court is out of touch with everyday Americans. 

From gutting voting rights and rejecting student loan forgiveness to overturning Roe v. Wade and common sense gun safety, the Court is on the wrong side of popular opinion.

We currently have Justices on the court who have been there for over 33 years. That’s 2 years before the World Wide Web became available to the general public, 9 years before GPS, and 15 years before the smartphone.

Congress must re-establish the Supreme Court as an impartial, nonpartisan branch of the federal government. That’s why I’ve introduced the Supreme Court Term Limits and Regular Appointments Act, which would create an 18-year term limit for justices.

This bill will ensure that justices are in touch with the current generation. It also removes the justices’ incentive to strategize and plan their retirements around whichever party holds the White House.
