Are you willing to stand up to President Trump if he is doing something illegal or unethical?

That’s the question that I have been asking every last one of Trump’s nominees for his cabinet – and it’s become clear by their actions: they won’t.

They won’t stand against him as he chaotically cuts funding for critical humanitarian and federal aid programs. They won’t stand against his unconstitutional firings of civil servants. And they won’t stand up to him letting an egotistical billionaire gain control over Americans’ personal information.

Instead, his cabinet will stand back and let him destroy our democracy.

That is why I have made the tough choice to oppose every last cabinet appointment that comes to a Senate vote. We can’t let Trump continue filling his leadership team with loyalists who will let him get away with whatever he wants. That's not a democracy, it's an oligarchy.

I will do everything I can to stand up for my state and my country, folks. But I know that it will be a hard fight to stop these nominations from going through.
