fifth-grade son felt uncomfortable when he was forced to mentor his
kindergarten "buddy" about gender identity in a way that
went against his religious beliefs.

And when his parents requested the opportunity to opt-out of similar
programs in the future, the Encinitas Union School District not only
denied their request, but responded with hostility.

No child should be forced to speak a message that violates his or her
religious convictions.

It's not only wrong, it's illegal.

hold the school district accountable for its actions.

We're also seeking a court order requiring the District to
notify parents in advance and allow opt-outs from teaching that
