James,

Bernie couldn’t be clearer:

But illegal or not, Musk is still at it – and now he’s come for the
watchdog responsible for protecting us from corporate corruption and
abuse, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Musk tweeted “CFPB
RIP” on Friday. Then employees were told not to come into work and the
bureau’s website went dark.

It’s not hard to see why. Musk is on a quest to give himself free rein to
do whatever he wants, whenever he wants – and CFPB was getting in the way
by protecting all of us from corporate abuse.

But here's the thing. Despite what Trump and Musk would like us to
believe, CONGRESS established the CFPB and controls the budget…so it’s
CONGRESS that would need to formally eliminate it, NOT an unelected
billionaire. That’s why we need to OVERWHELM our representatives with
demands to intervene and STOP MUSK from gutting our government.

[ [link removed] ]Our Revolution’s Citizen Action Team is working overtime, delivering
our voices straight to Congress. Will you add your name to growing chorus
calling on our reps to use their power to stop Elon Musk?

Musk has already seized payment systems putting everything from Social
Security to Medicaid on the line. This is another dangerous abuse of power
that is going to have clear consequences for ALL OF us.

The CFPB’s job is to protect consumers from predatory corporations by
issuing rules on things like medical debt and bank fees. So far, it has
secured $21 BILLION in consumer relief through things like compensation
and canceled debts – helping 205 MILLION consumers.

So of course Musk thinks he can just — poof! — make it disappear. And now
he has a new ally to help him:  Project 2025 architect Russell Vought
just got installed as the new head of the CFPB. Vought already
unilaterally declared that the bureau won’t withdraw its next round of
funding from the Federal Reserve, even though Congress passed a law
directing it.

It’s illegal plain and simple. And it’s all part of a massively corrupt
plan to allow billionaires to take over our government. But we aren’t
powerless to stop the worst of this.

The fact is, right now Congress is feeling the heat. Some Republicans have
even started to express concern about Musk's overreach. So NOW is the
moment to keep up the pressure and overwhelm our representatives with
calls for them to stand up for the American people and use the power we
gave them to rein in Elon Musk.

[ [link removed] ]We can’t let up now. WIll you send an urgent message to Congress
demanding it shut Musk down?

When we organize, we win.
