Medical assistance in dying (MAID) caused the deaths of 15,300 Canadians in 2023, out of a total of 320,000 deaths that year.

4.1% of these men and women didn’t even have any terminal condition. They were put down like animals because someone thought they weren’t worth help and support.
 
And the death toll rises higher and higher each year.
 
The 2023 assisted death rate increased by 15.8% on 2022. And between 2019 and 2022 there was an average annual increase of 31%.
