John, Katie Porter here.
Today my friend Deb Haaland is launching her campaign to be New Mexico’s next governor. Deb is a 35th-generation New Mexican, proud member of Laguna Pueblo, and former U.S. Secretary of the Interior under President Biden.
Can you split a $5 donation right now between Deb’s campaign and my organization, Truth to Power?
Deb and I were both elected to Congress in 2018. We were part of a big freshman class that came in during Trump’s first term, re-taking the House majority and finally holding the Trump Administration accountable. When Deb was elected to the House, she made history as one of the first two Native American women to be elected to Congress.
In 2021, Deb broke another barrier when she became the Secretary of the Interior. I was proud to work with her again to help bring federal resources back to Orange County to shore up our water supplies across Southern California. Deb visited Orange County in 2022 to see firsthand the innovations we've invested in.
Deb and I also went to a school to talk with fourth graders about the Every Kid Outdoors program, which allows fourth graders and their families to visit our National Parks for free. This is a program with a special place in my heart, and I’m grateful Deb took the time to meet with some of the kids who had the chance to utilize the program.
Deb is running to serve all New Mexicans and make sure we’re leaving a better future for our children. Please consider making a donation that will be split between her campaign for governor and Truth to Power.
