John,
Now that Donald Trump is back in the White House and his cabinet nominations are slowly being confirmed, we need to take action.
The chaos we’ve already seen under this administration demands a serious, organized response — and that’s why Wiley has called for a shadow cabinet.
A shadow cabinet has been successfully used in both the UK and Canada. It’s a team from the opposition party that mirrors the ruling party’s cabinet members, (in this case, all of Trump’s deeply unqualified nominations.) As a group, the shadow cabinet members provide alternative policies for voters and hold the administration accountable.
It’s about more than being against Trump — it’s about offering a clear, compelling vision of what we’re fighting for.
When Wiley first called for this idea before the inauguration, he knew it was a way for us to go on offense, rather than always playing defense. It’s time we stopped letting Trump’s agenda define the conversation. Democrats need to show the American people a better way, and that starts with creating a shadow cabinet.
Sign on now to join Wiley in calling for the creation of a shadow cabinet to counter Trump’s extremist policies.
Together, we can organize a shadow cabinet that holds the Trump administration accountable, pushes back against harmful policies, and offers real, positive alternatives for the future.
Thank you,
Team Wiley
