Today's Spotlight: Laverne Cox on Family & Chosen Family

Family—both given and chosen—is at the heart of so many LGBTQ+ journeys. As Laverne Cox shared in her It Got Better video, finding connection and acceptance from her mom wasn’t always easy, but through honest conversations and time, they got there.

And in the LGBTQ+ community, chosen family is just as powerful. Pioneers like Candis Cayne paved the way for Laverne, who in turn has inspired and uplifted the next generation, including Mj Rodriguez. We learn from each other. We lean on each other. That’s what love looks like.
