John —

We know that safe, affordable housing is at the heart of the Arizona Promise. But for too many families, that dream is slipping out of reach.

Rising housing costs, limited supply, and out-of-state speculators are making it too difficult for hardworking Arizonans to find a place to call home.

Katie has outlined four key actions we must take to address this housing crisis:

  1. Extend the State Low-Income Housing Tax Credit — This program has been instrumental in helping people become homeowners across Arizona, from Prescott to Tucson. It’s time to extend it to make housing more affordable for families.

  2. End the Proliferation of Out-of-State Corporations — Housing speculators are turning family homes into vacation rentals, driving up prices, and disrupting our communities. We need to put an end to the policies that allow speculators to take over, and we need to prioritize family homes instead.

  3. Double the Arizona Is Home Program — This program helps first-time home buyers with down payment assistance, and we’re committed to doubling it so even more families can access affordable housing opportunities.

  4. Cut the Red Tape — We need to continue removing unnecessary bureaucracy that drives up the costs of housing and instead create practical solutions to help families find homes in Arizona.
