John,

I'm writing to share with you five key ways that Minnesota Family Council will fight for your values in public policy at the Capitol this week.

  1. We are organizing powerful supporting testimony from key experts on HF25, which restores funding to pregnancy resource centers and maternity homes. These testimonies will be shared in the House Health Finance and Policy on Wednesday, February 12 at 1pm.
  2. Renee Carlson of our True North Legal initiative will provide legal testimony on restoring the Infants Born Alive Protection Act, HF24, which ensures that infants born alive during failed abortion attempts receive life-saving medical care. This hearing also is in the House Health Finance and Policy Committee on Wednesday, February 12 at 1pm.
  3. I will testify in support of HF22, the Parent's Bill of Rights, which seeks to protect children by ensuring that parents have the authority on education, healthcare, and upbringing of their own children in the Children and Families Finance and Policy Committee on Wednesday, February 12, at 3pm.
  4. Minnesota Family Council will send a letter of support on HF127, called the Protect Minnesota Kids Act, which will be heard in the House Public Safety Finance and Policy Committee on Wednesday, February 12, at 3pm. This bill increases the penalties of possession, receipt, or sale of child pornography and creates mandatory terms of probation as a minimum for possession of child pornography.
  5. On Thursday, an expert witness on mobile sports gambling and I will testify against the mobile sports gambling legalization bill SF757, which would legalize a sportsbook in every adult Minnesotan’s cell phone. Minnesota Family Council's communications team has already sent out an email to those of you who live in districts represented by the Senators who serve on the Senate State and Local Government Committee, helping you to take action against this bill.

John, you're one of hundreds of thousands of Minnesotans who are motivated by their faith to want a better future for our state. It's truly a privilege to advocate for your values at our Capitol.

P.S. - I hope I have the privilege of meeting you face-to-face on May 10th and sharing more with you about the work Minnesota Family Council does every week to fight for your values!

May God bless you,

Rebecca Delahunt, Director of Public Policy
