In recent years, life-long female athletes have been sidelined by policies that prioritize woke goals over fairness and basic biology.
For example, the Biden-Harris Administration radically rewrote Title IX to allow biological males to rob young women of scholarship opportunities, compete in women’s sports, and access private spaces, such as bathrooms and locker rooms. This nonsense undermines the merited achievements of female athletes, distorts the level playing field that is crucial for fair competition, and endangers the lives of female competitors.
Whether it’s Riley Gaines — who was denied a podium spot at the 2022 NCAA Women's Swimming Championships after tying for fifth place with biological male, or Payton McNabb — who suffered a severe head and neck injury as a result of a male spiking a volleyball during a high school competition, no female athlete should be forced to endure the devastating and dangerous consequences of the radical Left’s agenda.
Thankfully, President Trump is delivering on his promise to end this insanity.
Last week on National Girls and Women in Sports Day, the President signed an executive order effectively banning biological males from women’s sports and spaces. With the stroke of a pen and surrounded by young athletes with their whole futures ahead of them, he swiftly dismantled the Left’s abhorrent war on women that has unjustly endangered and demeaned female competitors across the country.
We’re already seeing this commonsense ban take effect.
Just one day after President Trump announced and signed his executive order, the NCAA promptly changed its eligibility policies to prohibit biological males from competing in women’s sports.
What a tremendous victory for female college athletes throughout the U.S.!
Yet we cannot stop there. In addition to ensuring all schools abide by President Trump’s executive order and compelling the International Olympic Committee to follow suit, Congress must also codify this commonsense into law.Â
As you know, my House Republican colleagues and I recently passed H.R. 28, the Protection of Women & Girls in Sports Act, which defunds schools that allow biological males to compete in women’s sports. Additionally, as a conservative member of the House Appropriations Committee, I introduced amendments to both the Fiscal Year 2024 and 2025 Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies appropropriations bills to codify the intent of President Trump’s executive order. Until it becomes law, I’ll continue working to ensure your hard-earned tax dollars no longer fund institutions that support this insanity. Rest assured, Republicans will keep leading and winning in the fight to save women’s sports.
