Hey there — It’s me, Eric. 

You might know me from my appearances on MSNBC (I, too, love The Rachel Maddow Show — and she grew up in my district!), or you might know me for my work in Congress on issues like gun violence, universal health care, and student loan debt. Of course, there’s a chance that you might not know me at all.

But, you don’t have to know me to know that the America we love is under attack. 

Our country is plagued by gun violence. Young people are dragged down by student loans. Hardworking Americans are struggling to make ends meet, all while some giant corporations pay $0 in federal taxes.

And you know who we have to thank for that? The Republican Party → 

Make no mistake: Republicans have abandoned working-class Americans. As a lifelong public servant, I’m angered by their willingness to do the bidding of the gun lobby, the fossil fuel industry, and big businesses — all in the name of campaign contributions.

Throughout my public life, I have lived by the values of public service — not self-service. And I refuse to stand idly by while Republicans continue to sell out everyday Americans, even if that means making some deep-pocketed enemies along the way.

2020 is the year we show Republicans that their decades of selling out working-class families has consequences. And we’re going to do that by electing Democrats up and down the ballot across the country.
