Just making sure you saw this update, John:

Trump’s Department of Justice is dropping Mayor Adams’ federal corruption charges “without prejudice,” meaning they can resume charges against him at any time.

In other words, Mayor Adams’ personal and legal fate is now completely beholden to the whims of Donald Trump. Adams should resign immediately. New Yorkers deserve better than a mayor who sells them out.

Ironically, Mayor Adams’ meeting occurred at the exact same time that my office – along with Attorney General Tish James, Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams, and other officials – met with business and community leaders about the devastating consequences we’re already experiencing as a result of Trump’s deportation policies.

We heard from business owners who have had employees not show up to work and school because they’re afraid of being arrested by ICE, and of the fear that has resulted across the City because of Trump’s demonization of immigrants.

John, this is not what real leadership looks like. We need a mayor who will stand up and fight all New Yorkers.
