Hey John,
Feeling overwhelmed reading all the fresh news about the horrors the Trump administration is trying to push through this week? It’s not even a month into his presidency, and we’re all exhausted already.
You know who wants you to feel overwhelmed? It’s Trump. It’s Elon Musk. It’s the billionaires that know their money insulates them from any consequences or stress about life. They don’t stay up at night, stressing about their futures. They’re not worried about rent or bills to pay. It’s a game to them.
Well we’re not playing their game. We’re getting organized, we’re choosing hope, and we’re fighting back.
They want you scrolling in despair, convinced there’s nothing you can do. Every crisis - whether it’s climate disasters or the latest action of the Trump administration - is another opportunity for them to consolidate power while we’re stuck reacting.
They drive us into crisis after crisis, then sell us their solution: more cops, more corporate control, more extraction of our labor and the natural world around us. And worst of all, every time, they tell us the same lie: this is how the world has to be.
History tells us otherwise. Time and time again, youth organizing changes the world. We’ve always been the weather vane for the winds of history. And right now? A generation is rising to meet this moment.
We don’t have to be exhausted. We can choose hope. Not the kind of hope that sits back and waits, but the kind that builds power and fights back even when it’s hard to see how we’ll win. Together, we will build a world where no corporation gets to decide who lives and dies - not from preventable illnesses, not from climate disasters, not from poverty and homelessness.
Together in movement,
Team Sunrise
