We have to do more than say Black Lives Matter. We have to act.

Last week I was proud to join my friend and colleague Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley to introduce a House Resolution to Condemn Police Brutality.

We can’t confront injustice unless we call it by its name.

We do this for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and DJ Henry from Massachusetts. We do this for every mother who sends her Black son out into the world and lives with the constant fear of them not returning home. We do it for the Black men targeted unjustly, sentenced unfairly, and killed by those sworn to protect us all

We need to change the way we police in America. This resolution is the first step — an urgent, powerful statement from our government that the status quo is not acceptable.

Tell the House and Senate to pass Rep. Pressley’s resolution — now.
