This Black History Month, we’re celebrating the incredible Black women leaders who have stepped up to break down barriers and make strides toward ensuring our government truly reflects the diversity of its people.

Emerge is proud to highlight our newest Black Congressional alums – Rep. Janelle Bynum (OR-5), Rep. LaMonica McIver (NJ-10), and Rep. Lateefah Simon (CA-12) – who will be fierce advocates for their communities in the halls of Congress!

Black women have long been at the forefront of change, but today, they make up only 5.4% of voting members in Congress. We must elect more Black women to every level of government and expand their leadership to build up power for the New American Majority!
