Today, in the South Sound, Black leaders are shaping our future at nearly every level of government, business, nonprofit, labor, and education. They are breaking barriers, inspiring change, and strengthening our communities.
Many of these leaders were raised right here at home – rooted in our region, and driven by a deep commitment to building a more just and inclusive future for us all.
This Black History Month and beyond, we honor the legacy of Black leadership past and present and recommit to action – dismantling injustice, expanding opportunity, and building a more safe, just, and secure future for all.
