At Emerge New Mexico, it’s our mission to change the face of government. By recruiting and training amazing female and nonbinary Democrats from across our state to run in (and win!) elections at all levels of government, we are building a true political movement that goes beyond any one election cycle. We’re building a deep bench of candidates who can lead our state and our nation in a new direction—and we’re so glad to have you on our team.
The reality is, this work has never been more important. The Trump/Musk administration has gutted key federal departments that support women; from attacks on reproductive rights and public healthcare programs to deep cuts to medical research. In the name of “ending DEI”, unqualified Trump loyalists placed throughout the government have declared open season on any programs that do not primarily benefit wealthy white men.

These federal cuts are hugely unpopular, and we have already seen Trump and Musk retreat in the face of public pushback. It’s our responsibility to hold these right-wing extremists accountable, and to oppose their attempts to dismantle the federal government from within.
