Friends,

I cannot stop thinking about the senseless death of George Floyd and the systemic racism that African Americans have endured for entirely too long.

So this weekend, I marched alongside my fellow South Jerseyans to demand justice for George Floyd. I was joined by Camden Mayor Frank Moran, Camden Police Chief Joseph Wysocki, and countless community activists calling for change. It cannot be said enough: Black Lives Matter.

Although the arrest of former MPD officer Derek Chauvin is the first step towards the justice we seek -- it is only the first step. The road ahead towards the accountability and reform we need is long, and it is absolutely crucial that we are united in our calls for change to an unjust system.

We must demand this change together, friend. Not only are we focused on justice for George Floyd, but also the justice owed to countless other African American community members whose stories often go untold.

I will continue to keep an open dialogue with the African American community, law enforcement, and community leaders to speak out against -- and take bold action on -- injustices both large and small. And I hope I can count on you to join me in this fight for racial justice, friend.

In solidarity,

Donald
