Do you trust your tap water is safe to drink?

Friend,
New data from EWG’s Tap Water Database identified 324 contaminants in drinking water across the country – many linked to cancer, brain damage and other serious health risks.
Nearly 50,000 U.S. water systems were analyzed, exposing widespread contamination from toxic chemicals, heavy metals and even radioactive substances. Yet millions of Americans remain unaware of what comes out of their faucets.
Take a look at some of the harmful chemicals our scientists found:
* PFAS (“forever chemicals”). Found in the drinking water of 143 million Americans, these toxic chemicals are linked to cancer and damage nearly every system of our body.
* Arsenic. A known carcinogen detected in drinking water in all 50 states – linked to bladder, lung and skin cancer.
* Chromium-6. A toxic chemical tied to cancer and organ damage yet still in the water of 250 million Americans.
* Lead. A potent neurotoxin that can permanently damage brain development, especially in children.
* Nitrate. From farm runoff and wastewater, this contaminant increases the risk of cancer, thyroid issues and harm to developing babies.
While most water systems comply with legal federal standards, what’s legal is not necessarily safe. We’re working to provide a clearer picture of the true risks in drinking water – but we need your input.
We’re looking for EWG supporters to weigh in – the survey will only take a few minutes.
