Teton County Democratic Convention Recap
Teton Dems hosted its 2020 Convention on Saturday, May 23. Many thanks to those who attended and took on the basic grassroots work that makes democracy work.
Convention attendees heard brief speeches from elected officials, including Wyoming Legislative Representatives Andy Schwartz, HD-23; Mike Yin, HD-16; and Mike Gierau, SD-17.
The 2020 Teton Dems Platform was adopted after the convention considered new planks and amendments. The following plank is especially important after the killing of yet another unarmed black man, George Floyd, by police officers in Minneapolis on May 25.

CIVIL RIGHTS
Equal protection under law for all, regardless of gender, gender identity, age, race, ethnic origin, disability, religious affiliation, sexual orientation or sexual identity is essential to a healthy democracy. Calling attention to the violation of rights for one group in no way minimizes the rights of any other group.

We encourage our fellow Teton Dems and the entire community to speak up against racial injustice, until its systemic roots in our country are eliminated.
