Herbert,
I’m angry as I write to you today.
I’m angry that extreme conservatives have forced into law a hyper-partisan budget that turns its back on America’s veterans and most vulnerable. I’m angry that it empowers President Trump to continue his relentless attack on our civil service and government services.
And I’m angry that some of my colleagues walked away from the negotiating table when compromise was still possible.
I am angry, but not deterred. We need to speak up – on social media, in town halls, on the phones and in emails – against this assault on our democracy. We especially need to support candidates like me who will keep pushing, loudly. Can I count on you to contribute to my reelection campaign today?
Let’s turn our anger into action.
