As Lizzie often says: Together, we can do anything.

The belief that when we all work together we can solve our biggest challenges is a guiding principle for our campaign, and for this week’s campaign update, we want to talk to you about a few of the ways Lizzie and our team are taking action:

1. This past weekend, #TeamLizzie joined with Brighter Bites and other partners at the Greater Macedonia Baptist Church to distribute more than 1,000 boxes of food and masks to those in need in the community.  We were so inspired by everyone who pitched in to help our community in these trying times.  Thank you to the more than 50 #TeamLizzie volunteers who joined us along with Houston’s Carl Lewis, AKA and Delta Sigma Theta Sororities, the Air Traffic Controllers, and many more community partners.

2. Our campaign is looking for more ways to serve our Houston community.  We invite you to share any ideas you have for future community service opportunities here — we look forward to reading them.

3. In other campaign news, Lizzie continues working to address the devastating effects of gun violence our communities.  Of course, there is still work to be done to make our communities safer, and Lizzie is in this fight for as long as it will take.  That’s why we’re proud she received the endorsement of Everytown for Gun Safety this week, and glad to partner with this group doing critical work to end gun violence.

With only 22 weeks to go until Election Day, and with everything going on in communities across the country, it’s more important than ever that we remember how important November’s elections will be — and how much each of us can do to make sure that this election puts our country back on the path to progress.  As always, thank you for being an active and engaged member of our team.
