Friend,

Now is not the time for appeasement.

National Republicans are forcing a spending bill that cuts the lifeblood of IL-17 with nothing in return but tax cuts for Elon Musk.

I have and will continue to hold strong, on behalf of protecting services and shielding Illinoisans from reckless, dangerous cuts.

And now, the Republicans’ campaign arm is trying to use my support of workers as an attack ad, filled with blatant lies.

The only people I’m “costing” are the billionaires trying to shred our government for a massive heist of everyday Americans.

I stand ready and united to vote with my House colleagues for a four-week funding extension that stops harmful cuts, keeps the government open, and allows Congress to work across the aisle for agreement.

But that isn’t the headline that the NRCC wants. In fact, a huge piece of their strategy includes a near-constant barrage of negative attacks in the media.

I'm not surprised by these smears, and frankly, this changes absolutely nothing about my commitment to protecting working families. However, it’s clear they're using manipulation to try and pull the wool over the eyes of the American people, and attacks like these can’t go unchecked:

We can't allow the GOP to control the narrative. If you can, please contribute $3 or whatever you can spare to help me respond to the Republicans’ baseless attacks.
