John, we just beat the NRA! 🎉🎉🎉
In an 8-4 ruling, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals found the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act constitutional, upholding a Florida federal judge’s decision despite three fiery dissenting opinions by Donald Trump-appointed judges.
The Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act prevents Floridians under the age of 21 from buying rifles and other long guns — a critical gun safety measure.
The NRA and Trump want to arm kids, but we’re not going to let them. This law was passed in the wake of the Parkland shooting in Florida that was the genesis for March For Our Lives.
This law is personal to us. It was our friends, our co-founders, our team members who had to live through the terror of the mass shooting in Parkland, and Trump and the NRA just tried to rip this law passed out of our pain and suffering away.
We fought this injustice tooth and nail and even filed an amicus brief last summer to protect the law.
This is a reminder that our momentum cannot be stopped. Everything that we do to fight for gun safety is working. When we come together, we can even beat the NRA, that’s huge!!
Slowly but surely, we’re chipping away at the power of the gun lobby and protecting kids' lives! Because if our leaders won’t, we will.
Help us keep fighting; donate anything you can now >>>>

Your Personal Invite To the Movement Fund 💌💙 At March For Our Lives, we call our monthly supporter program The Movement Fund. Why are monthly recurring donors so important? The amount of one-time individual donations we receive as an organization varies vastly from month to month. Without a steady stream of monthly donations coming in our door, it would be impossible to accurately plan our budgets, create long-term strategies to win a future free from gun violence, plan and execute on-the-ground organizing efforts, recruit and train more gun safety champions, and more. |
