Hi Friend,
As a Quaker organization that believes in the worth and dignity of all people, we cannot remain silent when loved ones are torn apart by cruel immigration policies. Thank you to everyone who has raised their voices by contacting Congress and the Trump administration to stop deportations. Since taking office, the administration has vastly expanded immigrant detention and deportations. Last week, it revived the widely condemned policy of family detention, arresting and jailing children and their parents. We must keep speaking out to end all detention and deportations. If you haven’t already, contact public officials today!

Free Mahmoud Khalil and stop the persecution of activists By Mike Merryman-Lotze and Amy Gottlieb
Last week, Mahmoud Khalil, a Columbia University student and permanent U.S. resident, was arrested by the Department of Homeland Security. He was targeted because of his activism on behalf of Palestinian rights. This case should set off alarms for anyone who cares about free speech, due process, and constitutional rights. AFSC joins with millions of people across the U.S. calling for Mahmoud’s freedom and opposing efforts to silence those speaking out against injustice.
