This week, the images told the story — images of people protesting at Tesla dealerships, a stock market in freefall and a world utterly lost on how to respond to Trump’s erratic tariffs.
But the most lasting image was of Donald Trump — the President of the United States — hawking cars in front of the White House while his overlord financier friend special government employee stood smiling nearby.
Republicans have no plan for the economy. No plan for tariffs. No plan for Ukraine. They have tethered themselves to an impulsive car salesman bent on dismantling the government rather than making it more efficient while the president posts nonsense on social media.
Trump will not improve — he will get worse. Despots do not become more rational when given power. Dictators do not moderate over time. The images that emerge from the administration in the future will likely be even more erratic and unhinged. They are almost certain to be more cruel…
