*PCH Reopened*
PCH has been reopened through the cities of Los Angeles, Santa Monica, and Malibu *to residents who live in the Palisades Fire burn area*,* essential businesses, and school bus traffic* following the recent storms.
Access will be allowed only to Palisades, Malibu, and unincorporated Los Angeles County residents who live in the Palisades Fire burn area and who must use this route for travel. The pass checkpoints remain at Chautauqua Boulevard in Los Angeles and Carbon Beach Terrace in Malibu.
Malibu, Sunset Mesa, Topanga Canyon, and unincorporated LA County residents and contractors hired by residents in the burn area *can pick up access passes from the LA County Sheriff’s Department from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. here:*

How to Request FEMA Rental Assistance After a Disaster

*Do Not Drink Order Lifted for Some Altadena Residents *
The Lincoln Avenue Water Company, which serves a portion of Altadena, announced that their Do Not Drink/Do Not Boil Order has been lifted [ [link removed] ]. Residents can safely resume using water for drinking and all purposes.
The State Water Resources Control Board, Division of Drinking Water; the Los Angeles County Public Health Department; and Lincoln Avenue Water Company had issued the order on Feb. 7, 2025, due to benzene detections in portions of the company's distribution system following the Eaton Fire.

Economic Opportunity Begins Disbursement of Relief Funds
The LA County Department of Economic Opportunity, in partnership with the City of Los Angeles Economic and Workforce Development Department, and third-party administrator AidKit, announced the distribution of Phase 1 awards for the LA Region Small Business and Worker Relief Funds [ [link removed] ] are now underway, providing direct cash assistance to workers, small businesses, and non-profits that experienced the greatest impacts from the wildfires.
A total of $2.7 million in grant awards is being disbursed to 82 businesses, each receiving a $25,000 grant, and 324 workers, each receiving a $2,000 grant, in Phase 1. AidKit has begun notifying Phase 1 grant recipients. Any applicant not selected for Phase 1 will automatically be considered for Phase 2.

Deadlines are coming up at the end of March for key assistance programs.
