Sen. Katie Britt named ‘outstanding new member of congress’ by American Farm
Bureau

U.S. Senator Katie Britt has been recognized as the American Farm Bureau
Federation’s (AFBF) “Outstanding New Member of Congress,” an award given to
lawmakers in their first term who have demonstrated strong support for
agriculture.

Britt nominated by the Alabama Farmers Federation (ALFA), has been an advocate
for farmers both in Alabama and across the nation. She emphasized the critical
role of agriculture in America’s economy and national security.

Senator Katie Britt Participates in Senate Judiciary Committee Hearing on
Antisemitism

U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) took part in a Senate Judiciary Committee
hearing titled “Never to Be Silent: Stemming the Tide of Antisemitism in
America,” where she addressed concerns regarding the rise of antisemitic
incidents, particularly on college campuses. The hearing featured testimony
from multiple witnesses, including Alyza Lewin, President of the Louis D.
Brandeis Center for Human Rights under Law.

During the hearing, Senator Britt recalled her visit to Israel shortly after
the October 7, 2023, terrorist attacks by Hamas, describing the experience as
“gut-wrenching” and “heartbreaking.” She expressed concern over antisemitic
incidents that followed in the United States, specifically on university
campuses. Citing specific cases, she pointed to incidents at UCLA, Yale,
Cornell, and Columbia, where Jewish students reportedly faced discrimination
and hostility.

Britt pushes child care legislation, wants some provisions in reconciliation
package

U.S. Sen. Katie Britt, R-Ala., is championing bipartisan bills to make child
care more affordable and wants to put some pieces of the legislation into the
reconciliation package that addresses taxes and spending.

As a mom and the youngest Republican woman ever elected to the Senate, Britt
said she is focused on addressing issues parents and families face, including
child care accessibility.

“I feel like it is an issue that plagues America from coast to coast, and it’s
one that we should tackle to show the American people that we see them, that we
hear them, and we’re doing something about it,” Britt told Alabama Daily News.
