I just filed another lawsuit against the Trump administration:

Yesterday, I joined fellow Democratic attorneys general in suing the administration for its unlawful termination of nearly half of all workers at the U.S. Department of Education.

This mass firing is the latest step in Donald Trump’s plan to shutter the Department of Education and slash public education. It would have far-reaching negative impacts on our children.

The Department of Education plays an invaluable role in ensuring the health, safety, and education of our kids, including administering programs that assist children from low-income families, special education, and providing vocational training.

Despite what they think, Trump and his administration do not have the authority to abolish this department. As a father and as California’s Attorney General, I will not sit by and let them attempt to kick our children’s futures to the curb.
