First things first: thank you for everything you do to defend the freedom to vote as a dedicated supporter of Fair Fight Action.
Now, I want to give you an update on the Early Vote Erosion Act.
The proposed legislation in the Georgia General Assembly would have made access to the ballot box even more unequal — by allowing local governments to opt out of offering early voting on Saturdays for some municipal elections.
At Fair Fight Action, with your support, we raised the alarm right away. We mobilized Georgians to speak out to lawmakers. We worked alongside allies to lobby in the legislature.
And after our public pressure campaign, Georgia lawmakers removed those harmful provisions from their elections-related legislation.
However (and this is a *big* however), their legislation is not final, and lawmakers could still slip even more harmful anti-voter language into a bill before the end of session on April 4.
So for the next three weeks, it’s still all hands on deck. We will continue to track all the bills that are working their way through the General Assembly, and we have to be ready to respond immediately — again — to any voter suppression legislation.
Can you make a donation of $30 or any amount to help stop anti-voter bills and defend the freedom to vote?
Thank you again for helping to make this work possible.
