Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced [ [link removed] ] the appointment of Leah Dinkelacker to the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas, General Division.
Dinkelacker, of Cincinnati, will assume office on March 24, 2025, and will be taking the seat formerly held by Justice Megan Shanahan. Dinkelacker will serve the remainder of the unfinished term and will need to run for election in November 2026 to retain the seat.

DeWine gives state of the state address [ [link removed] ]
Governor DeWine delivered [ [link removed] ] his 2025 State of the State address during a joint session of the Ohio General Assembly.
Speaking before a crowd of legislators and members of the public, Governor DeWine pledged to continue making Ohio the best place in the nation to live, work, and raise a family.
"Since taking office, my administration has worked each day to help ensure that every Ohioan has the tools to live up to their full potential and the opportunity to live their version of the American dream," said Governor DeWine. "For the truth is, we cannot achieve our full potential as a state unless each Ohioan first achieves theirs."

Science of reading awards [ [link removed] ]
Governor DeWine and Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (DEW) Director Stephen D. Dackin announced [ [link removed] ] the first group of Ohio schools to be honored through the new Governor’s Science of Reading Recognition Program [ [link removed] ].
A total of 47 schools across the state were recognized for their exemplary work aligning their curriculum with the Science of Reading, embracing professional development for teachers, and raising literacy achievement among their students.
“Reading is the key to learning. Reading is the key to life. With this new recognition, we celebrate the schools throughout Ohio that are going above and beyond to bring the Science of Reading into their classrooms,” said Governor DeWine. “We know that the Science of Reading is the best way kids learn how to read. As more of our children become proficient readers, they will be more prepared to thrive in the classroom, in the workforce, and in life.”

DeWine at Ohio Beef Expo [ [link removed] ]
Governor DeWine toured the Ohio Beef Expo at the Ohio State Fair and Expo Center. The Ohio Beef Expo is Ohio’s largest beef cattle event managed by the Ohio Cattlemen’s Association (OCA), a non-profit membership organization, representing the business interests important to farm families raising cattle.

Governor DeWine recognized Ohio's 2025 District Teachers of the Year [ [link removed] ] during his State of the State address on March 12.

Countless teachers across Ohio pour their heart and soul into their work, and their students, every single day.”
