This week, House Republicans passed a bill to fund the government that is reckless and dangerous. It gives Elon Musk and President Trump even more unconstitutional power to shut off and redirect funding as they see fit. It cuts services for veterans, research by the National Institutes of Health, affordable housing programs for low-income individuals, disaster relief, food programs for seniors, and so much more. There was even a provision prohibiting Congress from challenging President Trump’s tariffs.

Voting NO on the Republican’s Continuing Resolution was not a hard choice for me.

Last week I took a vote that was a hard choice for me and angered some in my community. I hear you. If given the chance, I would similarly vote yes to censure Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert for their behavior (and many others!). We should all be held to high standards, not just Democrats, and Speaker Johnson is a coward and hypocrite for refusing to hold these kinds of behaviors to account.

Thank you for standing with me in this fight. There's still so much work to be done.

Chrissy
