We Are California local organizations and members are launching a week of rolling actions across the state to protect our healthcare and send a message to the billionaires: “Hands Off Our Healthcare!”
While the senate is voting on a temporary stop-gap measure to buy more time to destroy essential live-saving programs like Medicaid and fund tax breaks for billionaires, we are going to keep fighting.
The big picture is that Elon Musk and his cronies, alongside Trump, are forcing Congress to move forward with budget proposals that would cut healthcare, food assistance, child care and education – cuts that would devastate millions of seniors, children, and families in California. At the same time, these funds are being redirected to give billionaires and corporations handouts, and turbocharge anti-immigrant actions like the separation of families.
The good news is that these proposals face growing resistance, and together we can make a difference! Next week starting on Tuesday, we’re ramping up our efforts with local actions happening across the state. Legislators are in office and they need to hear from their constituents - not greedy billionaires. This is a critical time to take action, and make our voices heard.
