President Trump's Vision For The Working Class

Image

I don’t know about you but I’m still thinking about President Trump’s speech to Congress last week. It was one of the best speeches I’ve ever heard and it gave working Americans a renewed hope in the American Dream.

I’m the son of a factory worker. I grew up in a trailer park and come from a distinctly working-class background. The same American Dream that I experienced is something worth protecting for future generations of Americans.

As Americans, we’re defined by limitless grit, robust freedom, an innovation spirit, and above all, a faith in God. President Trump has tapped into that identity and renewed the promise of the American Dream for all Americans—particularly working Hoosier families.

President Trump is renewing the hope of the American Dream from the ashes of an historic low point. Our nation has emerged stronger with a leader and an administration whose defining feature is their commitment to working families.

Already, President Trump has made good on a range of his promises. Through his speech last week, he highlighted many of these accomplishments.

First, and most directly, through the strategic use of tariffs, he’s removed the “kick me” sign from the backs of our workers, manufacturers, and producers. On Monday, President Trump announced that Honda will begin producing their Civic model in Indiana instead of Mexico thanks to the success of his tariff strategy. Once again, President Trump’s critics have been proven wrong. His tariffs are bringing jobs and dignity back to American workers. The Trump economy is prioritizing hardworking Hoosiers, not foreign interests.

Second, we’ve regained operational control over our southern border and halted an invasion that threatened our sovereignty and security. For the past four years, liberal elites lived sheltered away from the destruction caused by illegal immigration, while working Americans were left to deal with the consequences. In many communities around the country, their hospitals, police departments, and emergency services were struggling to deal with the influx of criminal aliens, leaving AMERICANS without care.

And lastly, America is once again respected—among both our partners and adversaries. The hard-earned tax dollars of the men and women who sustain this country’s workforce will no longer be shipped to fund the ambitions of globalist foreign leaders.

Taken together, all these wins culminate in a massive shift for the working class of this country. I’m proud to support President Trump’s vision for the working class as a member of the Senate.

Question Of The Week

I support President Trump's efforts to reduce our contributions to foreign governments and organizations around the world, particularly to those who would use your taxpayer dollars to undermine American principles. Do you agree too much of the federal budget is devoted to foreign assistance programs?

Dropping The People's Elbow On Federal Bureaucracy

Image

In Indiana, we have one of the best school choice programs in the country:

We empower parents, we let teachers teach, & we get the government out of the way.

The average bureaucrat at the Dept of Ed makes OVER TWICE AS MUCH money as teachers in Indiana.

It’s long past time that we have a President who is serious about getting the federal government out of education.

President Trump and Secretary Linda McMahon are abolishing the overreach of the federal government in education. Click here to watch me discuss with Fox News.

Made In America Manufacturing

Great to be with SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler in Indianapolis to kick off President Trump’s Made in America Manufacturing Initiative.

Indiana has the highest concentration of manufacturing jobs in the country.

President Trump is securing historic investments to strengthen Made-in-America manufacturing!

Lt. Gen. Dan ‘Razin’ Caine Has My Full Support!

I met with Lt. Gen. Dan Caine (U.S. Air Force, Ret.), President Trump’s choice to be Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

As Chairman, he will be the President’s top military advisor, helping to Make Our Military Great Again.

Lt. Gen. Caine has my full support. Click here for my official statement.

Protecting Americans' Retirement Savings

Image

I introduced the Protecting Americans’ Retirement Savings Act. Many Americans’ retirement plans wrongly fund the militaries of our adversaries or foreign companies that aid in human rights abuses.

Too many pension funds and 401(k) managers have let American workers down by investing their hard-earned savings in companies that empower America’s enemies.

My bill would prevent these misguided investments and guarantee that Wall Street execs aren’t bankrolling our adversaries with the retirement funds of hardworking Americans. Click here to learn more.

Buying Faster Than The Enemy Act

Image

This week, I introduced the Buying Faster than the Enemy Act. The bill aims to streamline the Department of Defense’s (DOD) acquisition process, reducing bureaucratic delays to ensure the U.S. military can procure advanced technology faster and more affordably than its adversaries.

China, Iran, and our other adversaries don’t drown themselves with red tape when arming themselves. To stay ahead, the DOD must move faster. My bill would streamline the purchase of cutting-edge warfighter tech from American companies—making the process faster and cheaper. Click here to learn more.

My Bill To Make Fentanyl Testing A National Standard

Image

Nearly seven years ago, 19-year-old Tyler Shamash tragically died after suffering a fentanyl overdose. At the time, Tyler’s family was told that he tested negative for drugs because the standard five-panel test didn’t test for fentanyl.

Alongside Senator Alex Padilla of California, I reintroduced Tyler’s Law, a bipartisan bill that directs emergency rooms to screen for fentanyl, ensuring overdose victims receive timely, life-saving care. Click here to learn more.
