Hello from the Shahid Buttar campaign,

We hope you are safe and doing well. We are living through unprecedented times. People across the nation have taken to the streets, making it clear that we need immediate change. If we want a country where everyone can live with dignity, we have to keep letting voters know that Shahid is determined to meet this moment and put an end to militarized policing, mass surveillance and the system of economic exploitation both sides of the isle are committed to uphold. To secure a just and humane future, we need your help to reach out to voters and tell them why you are supporting Shahid.

In 2014, after police officers killed African-American men in Ferguson, Missouri and New York City, Shahid’s opponent voted in favor of the Blue Alert Law that created a notification system to identify credible threats to police officers. The law strengthened the regime of surveillance on black and brown communities. Shahid is determined to dismantle the system of violence that has brutalized vulnerable members of our community for decades. As our opponent pumps corporate money to boost their re-election campaign during the crisis, our campaign is relying on dedicated grassroots supporters to reach voters through the phone. We have set up an impressive digital phone-banking program to spread the word about Shahid. But the only way we can pull this off is to have our supporters around the country join us in reaching out to voters with us by phone.

Can we count on you to get trained to join our calling team? It takes just 20 minutes and any one volunteer could be decisive in these crucial next few weeks!
