While I’ve been in the midst of tear-gas, rubber bullets and smoke bombs that have been flooding my city, I’m reminded over and over again for why I’m running for this seat. That true justice comes when our people are taken care of. That our voices need to be taken seriously when it comes to the aggressive police reform we have been pushing for. That as a nation, we cannot continue down the path of incremental change, and we cannot sit and wait until tragedy happens for leaders to step up. This is not about political power, it's about humanity.
Last month you contributed to our campaign making it the most successful month in the history of our campaign and for that, I’m thankful beyond words. Your contributions gave us the organizing power needed to connect with more voters through texts, phone calls and mass mailing.
This election year is the most challenging fight we have ever experienced. Your support is proof that this is a #peoplefirst campaign and against all the barriers, we can --and will-- win this for the people. Your contributions allowed us to not miss a beat, through the COVID-19 crisis and now this civil unrest.
We have further to go, with only 3 weeks before absentee voting and our Get Out the Vote period begins, we need every ounce of energy, every dollar and every voice behind this campaign.
Please continue to get involved with your donations, with your phone calls and with your activism. We are all in this together.
