We are excited to share with you that for the first round of Vote Mama endorsements, we received more than sixty applications from pro-choice mamas across the country running up and down the ballot.

As one of our closest supporters, we want to give you a bit of insight into this process and what comes next for candidates on the ballot this year.

→ First, our team reviews applications and conducts interviews which help us make strategic decisions about who to endorse. We look at various factors, including the most competitive races, and the states and districts that are most likely to swing.

→ Next, let’s talk 2025 strategy. With Vote Mama alum Rep. Abigail Spanberger running for governor to flip VA from red-to-blue, a core strategy for Vote Mama is to play big and win big in Virginia. This is why we are so excited that more than one-third of our applicants came from candidates running for the Virginia General Assembly. We have an opportunity to maintain the narrow Democratic majority in the House of Delegates, and elect Virginia’s first woman and mama Governor to secure a Democratic trifecta this year! Other applications received this cycle span from school board, to statewide, all the way up to U.S. Senate.

→The final step in our strategy is determining what financial and other resources we can leverage to support our candidates.
