Last night was the Democratic status quo’s equivalent of raising the white flag.

It was a declaration that the current Democratic Party has no leverage or substance — no positive message to bring to the American people.

Instead of endlessly discussing the tactics that got us here, it’s time we injected a new energy into our party. We need leaders who understand the urgency of this moment. New York should be leading this fight, not caving.

We need to coalesce around a populist economic agenda that will result in universal healthcare, real livable wages, housing people can actually afford, and the belief that Democrats can truly represent the economic interests of everyday people.

I believe we need a new generation of Democratic leadership. If you’re with me, will you chip in now?
